Wiltshire Track & Field County Championships

CoSARC sent a mixed group of seniors, juniors and Quadkids to the Wiltshire Track & Field County Championships last weekend. Many adults and older juniors competed on Friday & Saturday, with the Quadkids competing on Sunday.

Reports from their parents were glowing and expressed how much they all enjoyed competing, and also loved encouraging one another, showing team spirit at its best.

Athletics, especially junior athletics is one of the loveliest sports to spectate, because of the fair and positive behaviour rather than, eg. abusing the ref and faking injury in well known team sports.

These young gems are finding their feet at entry level athletics and making their parents, coaches, club mates proud as punch whilst they're at it.

Freddie Bosworth entered 3 events and came away with 3 medals and 3 PBs. Silver in the Long Jump (4.61m), Bronze in the 3000m (10:21.67), and Bronze 800m (2:20.73).

Emily Bryant had a successful day, winning gold in the Under 15 girls 200m.

Daisy Nolan (Gold) and Emily (Silver) had a closely fought battle in the U15 Girls 100m. .

U15 Girls produced some very strong performances in the long jump too, with Emily earning a new PB with a jump of 4.57m.

In the 3k Katie Clements finished in 12:32:20, with Lilli Clements-Champion in 13:04:48. Lilli also set two new PBs in the Javelin, 22.17m and Triple Jump 8.29m.

WESTBURY 5K SERIES
