First race of the Hampshire Road Race League (HRRL) season 2021/22.

Outward departure from Aldi Park & Ride at 12:30pm 'sharp'. Inward return departure circa 3:45pm (no-one will be left behind!) Tickets are £10, refundable upon 'taking your seat'.

This race is a “Club Championship” event.

This will be a WMA age-graded Championship – not “first across the line”

What is WMA? More information can be found here, but in brief:

WMA is a way of measuring your performance taking into account your age and gender.  It enables you to produce a percentage score for your race based upon how old you are when you do the event and the comparative performance of world record holders taking into account their age and event itself.

For example;

A 40 year old female finishing the race in 47:00 minutes would have a WMA Grade percentage of 52.98%.

A 52 year old female finishing the race in 51:00 minutes would have a WMA Grade percentage of 54.71%....thus finishing ‘above’ the 40 year old female.

The aim is to get as high a WMA percentage as you can.

This is an excellent opportunity to compare yourself against that lightening quick younger runner that always finishes ahead of you (yet the real winner may well be you due to your higher WMA Percentage)…
