Road Running


We have a large and active group of runners in the Road Running section of Salisbury A&RC. We welcome a wide range of runners; young (16+) and old (<100), athletes, runners and joggers to join us on our busy, weekly, road running sessions.

Please come and join us on our Wednesday Night Club Runs, starting and finishing at Five Rivers Leisure Centre.

Every week the following groups are organised:

Group 1: 2.5 to 3 miles at 12 min/mile

Group 2: 4 to 4.5 miles at 11:30 min/mile

Group 3:  5 to 5.5 miles at 11 min/mile

Group 4:  5 to 5.5 miles at 10 min/mile

Group 5:  6.5 miles at 9:30 min/mile

Group 6:  6-7 miles at 9 min/miles

Group 6.5:  7 miles at 8:30 min/miles

Group 7:  8 miles at 8 min/mile

Group 8:  Coached session (mixed drills and intervals)

You are welcome to give it a try before committing to membership. Just pop along to the Leisure Centre at 6.15 on a Wednesday and have a trial run.

All groups are led by a qualified UKA Leaders and Coaches whom know the route they will be taking their group, will be carrying mobile phones and whistles, will ensure that the runners within the group are looked after and keep all of the runners within the group together.

Five Rivers Leisure Centre, Hulse Road, Salisbury, SP1 3NR

The club competes as part of the Hampshire Road Race League (HRRL) and field ladies and mens’ teams. Details are here: The HRRL season, runs from September to May annually and comprises race distances from 5 to 13.1 miles. Road Running Managers are Stuart Holloway, Liz Roberts, Ruth Thom & Craig Weatherburn.

Details of other club races are advertised on the club ‘CoSarc Members Only’ facebook page and announced at the Wednesday night training run.

Summer Pub Runs

During the summer we arrange Friday night runs starting and finishing at a local pub where we enjoy a well deserved drink and something to eat. All club members are welcome and if you prefer, we also arrange a walk for the less energetic! This is a great way to enjoy a run or walk through some wonderful countryside, socialise with some fellow runners/walkers and end the week with a relaxing drink and supper.
