MONSOON MADNESS FOR RUNNERS

Netley 10k HRRL


The penultimate HRRL match of the road running season was run over three laps of the Royal Victoria Country Park, on mixed terrain. The dry start to the race didn’t last as a torrential downpour in the latter stages gave the runners the unexpected challenge of running in a monsoon. The finishers were even given towels by the organisers to dry themselves.

Wiltshire County T&F Championships Swindon


The weather played “good cop / bad cop” with the competitors, volunteers and supporters over the weekend. Friday evening was bright and sunny, transitioning to a clear warm day on Saturday. Although bad cop turned up on Sunday with rain galore, the competitors battled through the elements to turn out a string of impressive performances and outstanding results. Between them the squad gained a clutch of podium finishes, and invaluable championship competition experience.

Charlie Coles U15 1500m Steeplechase Gold. New CoSARC record, knocking a whopping 20 secs off the previous record.

On a fairly tough undulating course, mostly on trails, Chris Simm turned in a fine performance, finishing in 42:34.


Goring Gap Half Marathon


This picturesque but tough course was run on the banks of the Thames.

The race was run in perfect conditions, with a fantastic view of Chichester harbour for the entire route.

Immortal Stourhead 10


On a beautiful warm and sunny morning, the runners started and finished at the Stourhead National Trust. The course was over hilly mixed terrain.

Shires ’n Spires Ultra Marathon


This Northamptonshire race was run around the historic village of Naseby. The route was an undulating 35 miles, with the first half in warmth and sun, followed by a welcoming overcast second half of occasional rain to cool the runners down.

James Chant completed his century of parkruns with a PB in a fantastic time of 09:00.
