HRRL Tables update & Report

Updated: Nov 13, 2019

The latest Hampshire Road Race League (HRRL) 2019-2020 tables have been released following the third fixture at Hayling 10 mile held on 3 November 2019.

A credible 45 CoSARC finishers (16 Ladies and 29 Men) arrived to ensure the splendid start to the campaign was maintained with a quarter of the season now gone.

Ladies A have successfully strengthened their grip in the top two of the top division - quite simply remarkable given that this is only their first season in the top flight following their promotion last season. The Ladies A team constitute the first three CoSARC finishers, Ruth Holloway, Anna Patrickson, Sarah Brewster.

Meanwhile, the Men's A team comprising of the first four finishers to cross the line; Stuart Holloway, Rob Drag, Ben Saunby, Richard Davidson further strengthened their grip at the head of the top flight which they have held since the first race of the season. The Men’s A team are continuing to make a barnstorming start their second season in the top division having consolidated their place in mid-table last season following promotion.

It is a case of "as you were" in the top three of the B divisions. Ladies B team comprising of Rachel Bala, Linda Robson, Mel Murphy held off Lordshill B to maintain their position in second place in the top league and look strong and on course to finishing higher than their 3rd place finish last season with a quarter of the season already gone. Meanwhile Ladies C comprising of Jackie Hassan, Jane Whiteley, Helen Carlton, further tightened their grip on top spot in the second division with their promotion charge to the top league gathering momentum, aiming to follow the same success of the Ladies B last season. Rounding off a splendid showing, Ladies D consolidated their position in second behind their C team counterparts. The Ladies D Team, comprising of Hannah Keech, Lisa Milner, Jacqueline Chlebowski look to be enjoying their debut season and with a quarter of the season gone, instant promotion is becoming more of a reality than a mere dream.

James Mills, Peter Callanan, Matt Sherfield, Mike Brewster ensured the Men's B team consolidated their spot at the head of the table - quite remarkable as they seek to improve upon their 4th place finish last season. Men's C team comprising of Craig Weatherburn, Al Moutray, Marc Hankins, James Hassan ensured the team remained in the top four of the first division building on their fantastic start to the year following promotion last season. Nestling nicely in second spot behind Alton B team, the Men's D team constituting Richard Larcombe, James Ballard, John Duffy, Andy Budgell are clearly enjoying their debut season, finding themselves above the B & C teams of many of their rivals. Incredible.

The next fixture see's the #seaofblue juggernaut head to Gosport on 17 November 2019 for the last Half Marathon distance in the HRRL calendar with, at the time of writing, a rather splendid 55 runners entered into the race.
