Richard Davidson flew the flag for his City of Salisbury club at London’s Lee Valley indoor track in an England Athletics inter-area fixture at the weekend, writes John Ruskin.
In two tough races on the boards, he bagged a season’s best 3000m performance in 10min 1.79sec for fifth place, but only after taking fourth spot in the equally demanding 1500m with 4:37.75.
Also in London, at the Big Half marathon starting from Tower Bridge, Mike White clocked a good 89min 45sec close to his best in preparation for marathons to come.
At the hillier Berkhamsted half, Phil Perry showed that he too is in fine form being timed at 97.27, while at the Bath Two Tunnels 10k featuring stretches of converted railway track, Denise von Roretz completed the course in 63min 19sec.
On Sunday the focus of the club’s roadrunners is the ever-popular Surrey half marathon at Woking.
