On a dry, sunny but cold day CoSARC entered over 50 members in the Gosport Half Marathon on Sunday. They were ably encouraged by several club colleagues and family who went along to support writes Vasen Moodley
Anne-Marie Bayliss won an exciting Ladies race when she overturned a three second deficit at the half way point to win by three seconds in a time of 1:22:01.2. In the Men’s race Rob Drag was first man home for CoSARC in a time of 1:20:30.6.
A number of club members put in significantly improved performances which resulted in PBs. They were Dave Gervais 5 min, Kate Buttimer 3 min, Nick Lay 3 min, Mark Goulding 6 min, Charlotte Ingram 1:06 min, Sarah Brewster 1:42 min, Sam Hibdige 2 min, Catherine Steel, Steve Young and Andy Makin.
Ally Sprague acquitted herself very well when she completed her first half marathon in a time of 2:45:19. Mark Hankins 1:29:43, and Reece Ingram 1:30:39 put in excellent performances on their return from injury.

In other news CoSARC’s marathon man Phil Perry has been at it again. He completed the Phoenix Running Marathon, on the Thames Path, in a time of 3:29:10. He received great encouragement and support along the entire route in what was his 8th marathon in seven weeks.
