For those that have not done this before, it is a simple case of turning up and running in your Salisbury vest. (Vests available for £14 from the clubhouse on Tuesdays and Thursdays). There is no pre-registration but as you run through the finishing funnel, you will be handed a number tab which you pass to Dave Amey at the end. XC spikes are advantageous though not essential. The Salisbury flag will be flying next to the club gazebo, so there will be somewhere to drop your kit and grab a post-race chocolate!
At some, not all of these matches, there are U11 races. If you are interested we can find out, on a race by race basis if there is an event being scheduled. The U11 race is not part of the league and starts earlier in the day (usually 11.30) and is approximately 2km.
Two other XC dates for your diary:
Tri-County Champs, Bath – 13 December /
SW Inter-counties- Bicton, Devon -20 December 2015 (tbc)
If you like getting dirty, go along to one of the cross country fixtures which start on the 11th of October. Its very good for your core strength with less impact on joints. The fixtures includes junior races too, so they get to properly muddy up the course for the seniors. They are also FREE to members (people pay good money these days to get muddy!). Just turn up and head for the City of Salisbury tent, where probably Dave Amey and Karen Mundell will take your name. Its makes a nice change to road running.
