The 2008/09
road running season ended at Netley with the Ladies A team finishing
fourth in the Division 1 and the Ladies B team finishing seventh in the
B Division 1. The Mens A team was relegated from Division 1 whilst the
Mens B team finished eighth in B Division 1.
Two women from Salisbury AC competed in sufficient races to qualify for
the individual standings - Christine Gorham who was 33rd and Laura
Allen was 42nd. Commendable performances by Kathy
Harvey and Fiona Ross-Russell saw them
consistently in the top 10% but injury prevented them both from
competing in seven races in the series.
Seven men also ran the required seven races in the series with Kevin
Tilley (15th), Clive Smith (49th), Mel Holloway (64th), Stephen Philp
(65th), Rod Smith (68th), John Gorham (71st) and Colin Martin (107th).
John was one of only ten runners to compete in all twelve races. Simon
Pill finished in the top 10% in the races he competed in.
Team highlights of the series were The Ladies A team finishing second
at the Solent Half, Bramley 20 and the Salisbury 10 whilst the Mens A
team best result was second also at the Salisbury 10.
