We
are delighted to welcome Simon Plummer to our club. He has recently
joined from Woodford Green AC having established himself as an
extremely accomplished athlete over a number of disciplines. Simon has
represented England as a Junior Cross Country runner and Scotland as a
Senior having won numerous championships over both track and country,
most recently 1st in the 2009 South West 5000m and 2nd in the 2009
South West Cross Country Championship. Simon is now concentrating on
road running and is targetting a fast time in the 2010 London Marathon.
He has hopes of making the Scotland team in the 2010 Commonwealth games
in the Marathon.

made a massive improvemment in his main event the High jump during 2009
setting a new PB of 1.78 in finishing 7th in the English National
Schools final in Sheffield. He was Wiltshire County and Wiltshire
County Schools Champion in 2009 and finished 2nd in the South West
Championships and also the National AAA u15 Championships. A great end
to the season. Jamie is coached by Deborah Bray from the Lavington
Track & Field Coaching Trust. His ambitions for 2010 are to set
new
PBs and club records in his new age group u17 |

is a key member of the club's sprint squad and a very versatile and
dedicated athlete. He has made great progress in both sprints and
horizontal jumps during 2009 reaching new PBs of 6-42 (LJ), 12-45 (TJ),
23.7 (200m) and 52.0 (400m) and winning the Wiltshire County
Championships in LJ and 400m. Among his ambitions for 2010 are to set
new PBs and club records in his new under 23 age group and gain
representation for Wiltshire County |

really came of age during the 2009 track season setting new PBs of 11.6
(100m), 23.6 (200m), 52.0 (400m) and finishing 2nd in the Dorset County
Championships (100m) and 2nd also in both the 100m and 200m at the
South West Inter Counties. He is currrently preparing for a competitive
indoor season and hopes to break 23 seconds in 2010 and maybe qualify
for the English National Schools Championships. |

| Gordon
is an inspiration to athletes young and old, having only taken up
running when he turned 50!. During that time he has added an impressive
list of local, regional and national wins to his trophy cabinet and he
has been selected to represent England 5 times. Gordon is currently
ranked 4th in Britain for the 5K male veteran over 70 category and is
ranked 6th for the 10K. |

started training with the Club when she was only 8 and immediately made
an impression on everyone with her enthusiasm, athleticism and ready
smile. Alex has improved rapidly to become one of the star members of
the junior athletics squad. She has recently broken two club records
for her age group at 800m, 2:21 and 1500m, 4:55. Alex would one day
like to emulate her athletic idol Kelly Holmes and become an Olympic
Champion. |

| Millie continued to improve during 2009
setting new club records for
300m in 40.13 and 300m Hurdles in 44.35. She reached the semi-final of
the English Schools championships over 300m. Millie made a strong debut
over 300m hurdles setting a club record and finishing 6th in the u17
national rankings during 2009. Millie will represent Team Southampton
for the 2010 season. |

is a key member of the sprint squad and is one of the most popular
members of the junior athletic team. He has proved to be a model
athlete and an excellent example to the younger athletes. His
competitive performances have improved significantly recently
culminating in a Club record of 7.29 for 60m during the 2009 indoor
season. Nathan continued to set personal bests of 11.3 and 23.2 during
2009 and will break more records in years to come. |

is now an established member of the athletic club and was a key member
of the junior squad for a number of years. He was voted young athlete
of the year on more than one occasion and has represented Wiltshire
regularly through the years. Tom holds the U17, 1500m club record of
4:08 and has been to the English schools championship twice. Tom aims
to continue his athletic development at Cardiff University during 2009
and beyond. |

| A club member since 2003, Ian began
running seriously in his mid-30's
and progressed rapidly, running 58:51 for 10 miles in his first year of
training. Having initially concentrated solely on road running, he now
also competes regularly on the track and at cross country where he
manages the men's cross-country team and represented Wiltshire in the
South West Inter-Counties X/C Championships in 2008. Despite recently
reaching V40 status, Ian has shown that he has no plans to slow down in
the foreseeable future having recorded 5 PB's during 2009 including a
35:20 10K, 16:35 5K and 4:32 1500m. |

local doctor with four teenage children, Fiona is currently competing
at her highest level. She typically finishes in the top three in most
races for her age group, Vet 45 and has for the last two years started
with the elite ladies at the Flora London Marathon. Fiona won the local
cross country marathon, the Neolithic, and she also competed in New
York City marathon in 2009 and finished 4th in her age group in a
national standard and an excellent time of 3:15:26. |

was awarded the Best Male Athlete of the Year at the Salisbury ARC 2009
awards. Clive is a very active club member whose award recognises both
his contribution to the club and some outstanding race achievements
during the year. His achievements to date include a personal best of 3
hours, 8 minutes and 41 seconds at the Hastings Marathon and this year
he is running the Malta, London and New York marathons. A former rugby
player Clive turned to running in early 2002 and is progressing very
well and becoming stronger each year. Clive is also a key Salisbury ARC
team runner in the Hampshire Road Race League. |

from junior level by Salisbury ARC's Dave Amey, Kathy principally ran
track and Cross Country at a young age, and then progressed onto road
running after a break from university.Kathy completed her degree in
Sports Sciences and Physical Education at Portsmouth University and
returned to the club four years ago. Coached by Simon Adlard, Kathy has
made exceptional progress and is one of the club's best performing lady
athletes to date. Kathy has a number of outstanding performances under
her belt most recently taking first place in the 2008 Salisbury 10 and
second in the ladies overall position in the Hampshire Road Race League
in 2008. Kathy ran the Flora London Marathon for the first time in 2009
and finished in a commendable time of 3:20:51. |

competes for City of Salisbury A&RC in the Hampshire Road Race
League and in 2007/08 finished 11th overall in the individual
competition, helping the club to gain promotion to Division 1. His
efforts were further recognised when he won the club's 'Road Runner of
the Year' award for 2007. Simon also competes for the club in the
Southern Men's Track League and has represented Wiltshire in both road
racing and cross country events. In 2008 Simon won an individual silver
medal in the Wiltshire 10k Road Race Championships. His goals for 2010
are to help the club to retain its Division 1 status in the road race
league, to improve his PBs on the track this summer, and to help the
club win promotion in this winter’s cross country league. |

| Sophie
became Hampshire Schools U14 champion in 2002 in only her second Shot
Put competition. Regularly ranked in the UK Age Rankings top 20, she
represented Hampshire and Somerset School teams at the English Schools
championships four times, winning a podium place on three occasions,
becoming Senior Girls Javelin National Champion in 2007. She has
represented the South West twice overseas and been selected for the
South of England Women's team twice in Home International competitions.
Now part of Loughborough University's Athletics first team squad, her
2009 campaign saw her set new PBs in Shot 12.73, Discus 35.40 and
Javelin 46.22 finishing 3rd in the National u23 rankings. She is also
in Team Bristol's squad for the McCain Indoor Intercity Challenge. Her
immediate ambition is to continually improve her PBs during 2010 and to
recieve an invitation to the UK Senior Championships later this year. |
