In the Metaswitch Games, first of the pre-season indoor events on the Lee Valley track, City of Salisbury’s young athlete Jake Ness showed in the 60m dash that he has lost none of his sprinting speed since the close of the outdoor campaign several weeks ago.
He clocked a personal best 7.44sec and followed that with a further improvement to 7.40sec before moving to the 200m where his 22.96sec set a new under-17’s club record.
Another of the performances of the day at 60m came from Austen Lane who in his first-ever race for the club ran 7.58 in his debut and then sliced that down to an impressive 7.45. Also making his debut, Josh Davies clocked 8.96.
Two more debuts saw Bea Fordham record 8.36 and Katherine Murphy 11.16.
At 200m Keith Bachiller was timed at 28.96 in his first race at the distance, Austen Lane 24.05 and Andrew Pryde 23.96.
